Work incentives Social security disability benefits have some barriers to work, but there are also some work incentives. Here are 4 examples: Trial Work Period & Extended Period Of Eligibility (SSDI): Extra time to prove ability to work and retain income. Plan To Achieve Self Support (PASS): Sets aside extra funds for work expenses. Impairment Related Work Expenses (IRWE): Sets aside extra funds for disability costs. Ticket To Work (THW): Assists with choices for employment supports.
