CLA Book of the Year for Children Award 2012 – Notables! Myra Junyk – Chair Selection Jury

Eligibility To merit consideration for the CLA Book of the Year for Children Award, a book must have been published in Canada, in 2011 and its author must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada. The Selection Jury The members of this years jury were: Myra Junyk (Literacy Advocate and Author, Toronto – Chair) Megan Clare (Librarian, Waterloo) Jaclyn McLean (Librarian, Prince Albert) Kay Weisman (Childrens Literature Consultant, Vancouver) Alexandra Yarrow (Librarian, Ottawa).

The Selection Process accept submissions from publishers of books which would appeal to children up to and including age 12 (218 books in total) read, review and discuss online create a long-list of 32 titles for thorough reading and review read, review, discuss online and via teleconference select a list of ten finalists consider and discuss the merits of the top ten via teleconference select winner and two honour books
