The Life of Jesus At the Cross…

Sin was Revealed Why such a terrible death? Sin – Rom. 6:23, Isa. 59:4 Man’s guilt – Rom. 3:23, 9-10 God has demanded blood for sin since the beginning An appropriate sacrifice was necessary.

God’s Care Revealed Our God is personal and He does care He is higher than we are, pure and holy Isa. 55:9 He could have nothing to do with sin – 1 John 1:5

God’s Care Revealed But He loved the world – John 3:16, Rom. 5:8 His righteousness - Rom. 3:24-26

Love of Jesus Shown Because of sin we needed a Savior Jesus left heaven for us – Phil. 2:5-8, He loved us - John 15:13

Love of Jesus Shown He willingly died for us John 10:17-18 Consider all He did leading up to the cross - cf. Matt. 26:52-54, Jn. 18:36, 19:10-12, etc. He loved me so!

The Price for Sin Paid We cannot forgive ourselves, cf. Eph. 2:8-9 Jesus paid the price – Heb. 9:28, 10:14, 2 Cor. 5:21, Gal. 3:13 Jesus paid it all

The Church Purchased Jesus intended to build His church Matt. 16:18-19 Acts 20:28 It was purchased with His blood. Ephesians 5:25-27 His blood purchased the church! It is His body – Eph. 1:22-23, 1 Cor. 12:12-13

The Old Law Nailed Jesus came to fulfill the Old Law - Matt. 5:17-20 He was the Messiah, but they did not want to accept Him. Cf. Heb. 10:1-4, 11-18 Jesus brought a law that COULD forgive sins – the Old Law was nailed to the cross Col. 2:13-14, Heb. 8:13

Mankind United One plan of salvation for all, at the cross Eph. 2:14-16 Gal. 3:26-27

Perfect Obedience found Jesus obeyed the Father – Matt. 26:39, 42 Heb. 5:8-9 1 Pet. 2:21-24 – He leaves us an example to follow
