We’re going to visit the Zoo!

A zoo is a place where I can go to see animals.

Zookeepers take care of the animals that live at the zoo.

When I come to the zoo, I may enter at one of these places.

I can enter the main building here.

I might see some birds walking around outside.

There are six foxes outside.

I might see the leopards sitting high in the trees.

I can look for a big bird called an ostrich.

I can see kangaroos outside.

I can look for Chuck the Groundhog!

The Children’s Center The Children’s Center is outside. I can see a big barn where some of the animals live.

I may find farm animals. I can feed these animals if I want to.

The Otter Den There are two otters in the Otter Den.

The otters may be on land or in the water. I can walk through a tunnel to see them swim underwater!

The Reptile House I can enter the Reptile House here.

I can see lots of snakes in their homes. There might be an alligator in the water.

Tropical Rainforest Inside the Tropical Forest I can see lots of animals.

I may see monkeys. There may also be birds flying over my head.

Africa Wing I can see animals from Africa in the Africa Wing.

I will see lemurs. Sometimes they make very loud noises!

There are different kinds of animals living together.

Sometimes, I may see someone holding an animal I can touch.

There are bathrooms inside the building.

I can bring my own food like a picnic, or get something to eat at the Zoo Cafe. There are lots of places I can eat.
