Definition ~ Guided Pathways and Integrated Student Support is based on structured educational experiences that guide students from connection to graduation. This model helps clarify paths to student end goals, monitors student progress and intervenes to ensure students stay on track, and learn what they need to be successful. 10/13/2018

Why According to Community College Research Center ̶ “College students are more likely to complete a degree in a timely fashion if they choose a program and develop an academic plan early on, have a clear roadmap of the courses they need to take to complete a credential, and receive guidance and support to help them stay on path.” 10/13/2018

STEP 4 START HERE CONNECTION From interest to application ENTRY From entry to program gateway course (foundational to major) completion PROGRESS Entry into pathway of study to completion of program requirements COMPLETION From completion of degree/certificate to career advancement or further education Proactive advising from connection through completion or transfer. Build bridge programs from high school to MCCCD Marketing tools to enroll students into programs, not classes Help students explore options/ develop program plan Integrate academic support into program gateway courses Clearly map out program paths Design advising and scheduling around maps and plans Monitor student progress & provide feedback/support Align program outcomes with requirements for success in career path for employment or further education 10/13/2018

Goals by 2022 Student Success and Economic Mobility Increase student enrollment by 10 percent, 15 percent for underserved populations. All students, credit and non-credit, unduplicated headcount Increase the overall 3-year and 6-year transfer and graduation rates by 50 percent. New to higher education in fall terms 10/13/2018

Goals by 2022 Student Success and Economic Mobility Increase fall-to-spring and fall-to-fall retention rates by 10 percent. All students Reduce the average accumulated credits to the amount required for program completion. Reduce the ratio of students to advisors. 10/13/2018
