Goal: 1.13 Data-based Decision Making Tier I team reviews and uses discipline data and academic outcome data (e.g., Curriculum- Based Measures, state tests) at least monthly for decision-making. 0 = No process/protocol exists, or data are reviewed but not used 1 = Data reviewed and used for decision- making, but less than monthly 2 = Team reviews discipline data and uses data for decision-making at least monthly. If data indicate an academic or behavior problem, an action plan is developed to enhance or modify Tier I supports Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI)

Data-based Decision Making 1. What type of data does the school need to collect? 2. Office Discipline Referrals? Tardies? Detentions? Etc. 3. What type of data will everyone agree to collect? 4. Rule for Data Use 1. Schedule regular meetings at the beginning of school to review data as a team. 2. Plan times to share data when all the faculty can be present. 3. Set Goals 4. Goal: 1.10 Faculty Involvement Faculty are shown school-wide data regularly and provide input on universal foundations (e.g., expectations, acknowledgements, definitions, consequences) at least every 12 months. 0 = Faculty are not shown data at least yearly and do not provide input 1 = Faculty have been shown data more than yearly OR have provided feedback on Tier I foundations within the past 12 months but not both 2 = Faculty are shown data at least 4 times per year AND have provided feedback on Tier I practices within the past 12 months Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI)

Establish Goals and Objectives Example Objectives 1. By the end of the quarter, fights in the lunchroom will decrease to less than 1 per week. 2. By holiday break, boys on the football team will decrease referrals to the principal from the gym. 3. By end of the year, bus referrals will decrease by 50% 4. By the end of the year, students will attend school at a rate 5% higher than last year. 5. This year, reported incidents of vandalism will decrease by 50% from last year. © E. Evaluating Solutions 1. Define the goal for solving the problem. 2. What will ‘it’ look like when you say it is not a problem 3. Define how you will know that the solutions were implemented as planned (with fidelity)? 4. How often will you conduct a status review? 5. Define how you will know that the solutions had a positive effect on student achievement, social competence, and/or safety? 6. How often will you monitor student progress?
