Why the Water Coming from your Car's Exhaust System

The internal combustion engine of your car is used to emits the exhaust gases during the combustion process.

It allows the exhaust gases to flow out from the engine and its pipes lead the gases through the tailpipe and out in the environment.

Many times you will notice that the water coming out of the tailpipe and those water generally coming from the exhaust system.

Without worrying about it, you need to understand all the possible reasons why the water is coming out of the exhaust.

Below are the common reasons that explain why the water coming out from your exhaust system-

Hot engine

The oil of the engine needs some time to flow and used to lubricate the components of the engine for cooling them down.

Most of the time when you start your car, its engine will generate more heat and heat the exhaust system as well.

If the temperature of the environment is cold, then this will create water vapor in the exhaust system.

At last, the water droplets come out from the tailpipe for a couple of minutes and clear up, if it not then it could mean big trouble.

Condensation of engine water

When you go through the internal combustion process of the engine, many pollutants are created on them.

The three common pollutants are the nitrogen, water vapor, and the carbon dioxide.

When the exhaust gases are leaving the chamber, the water and the carbon dioxide are mixed together.

When the engine of your car cools down, the water condensation in the exhaust and visible to the outside world.

Catalytic converter

Generally, the catalytic converter of your car lower the amount of toxic gas emission emitted by the system.

But the emissions are not at all harmful to the people as well as the environment.

As we know that during the conversion process of the engine, the traced water vapor is produced automatically.

As a result, it will produce the water droplets falling out of the tailpipe.

Bad piston rings

If the water is coming from your exhaust system due to the bad or faulty piston rings then it will create a serious issue.

If the water and smoke coming out from the tailpipe of your engine at the same time, then make sure it is due to the bad piston rings.

Many times you even smell the burning odors and even the worse burning smells.

When you find these types of issues, take your car to a reputed auto repair shop immediately to fix the issues.

Conclusion

Many time due to the cold environment the tailpipe and other components of your car getting cold and generate heat on the car.

Then it will condense the water to form the water vapor in the tailpipe of your car.
