From 577 perspective Win conditions: Platform vendor: Wider spread, lower R&D cost. Network operator: Lower costs, standard solution Developers: Cost-efficient development, standard, high flexibility of development environment, large consumer market, more platform capabilities Users: Cheaper/free application, high reliability, etc.

IOS(Apple) Nearly 17% market share Master of user experience (simple, multi-touch) iPhone introduced in 2007 More than 250k mobile applications in App Store Native SDK, web applications

Android(Google) Linux-based mobile technology. Not an operating system itself, but an application framework. Open source, Apache 2.0 license Development in a Javaish language and at native-level (C/C++) First phone shipped in 2008 (HTC Dream – G1) Android Market – mostly free applications Spreading at an unbelievable speed Open Handset Alliance

Future Apple and Google will continue to write the rules for this new wave of connected, touch-based computing, the next six to twelve months is critical for everyone involved. Apple: R&D the iOS with more capabilities as an OS, increase the openness of the platform on the market. Google: Try to make the best device to run Android(Nexus series), enhance the app store/market/commerce capability.

Predict If Apple failed to increase the openness and the capability of iOS, Google will take over the market when their app market become mature enough and new series of Nexus come out.

Thank you!
