The Roaring 20’s.

Changes During The Time. Water And Sanitation Systems. Trolley systems and automobiles. Electricity. Installment plans. Flappers.

Tourism and Recreation. Promotion of costal development. National historic prevention movement. Automobiles. (Very popular.) Northerners were attracted to the climate and culture.

Prohibition. Prohibition is where the constitution banned ALL alcohol with over 5%. Bootleggers And Moonshiners. Increased crime and corruption. Blue Laws strictly enforced.

Mass Media. Radio programs were really popular. People went to the movie theaters. Big Apple night club for African Americans. Newspaper.

Southern Literacy Renaissance The poetry society of SC led to this rival. Julia Peterkin. Dubose Heyward.

Harlem Renaissance. Result in Great Migration. Fostered a black middle class. Exalted unique culture. Recognition and pride to black artists. Jazz Era.

Improvements In Daily Life. New technology. Cars. Vacuums. Washing Machines.

Ku Klux Klan. The revival of the KKK was demonstrative of a society with the effects of industrialization, urbanization, and immigration. White Supremacy. Targeted Blacks and Bootleggers. Fundamentalism. Attacked the Elite, urbanites, and intellectuals.

Textile Mills And Farms. During WW1 the demand for cotton was very high. This caused farmers to overproduce. Which caused no work, and it caused depression. The prices fell. Mills now only hired experts for working. Many employees lost their jobs. Due to the Boll Weevil, farmers lost A LOT of cotton crops. So, they left their fields and worked in the mills.
