Six-month–adjusted survival after aortic valve replacement (AVR) for severe aortic stenosis (AS) stratified by procedure and preoperative ejection fraction (EF). Six-month–adjusted survival after aortic valve replacement (AVR) for severe aortic stenosis (AS) stratified by procedure and preoperative ejection fraction (EF). Survival was adjusted for the following variables: age, sex, acuity, vascular disease, diabetes mellitus, prior myocardial infarction, renal failure or creatinine >2 mg/dL, left main disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, body mass index, medical center, and year. Green line, preoperative EF ≥50%; red line, preoperative EF between 40% and 49%; and blue line, preoperative EF <40%. CABG indicates coronary artery bypass grafting. Joshua B. Goldberg et al.
