It’s fair to say that the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees are baseball adversaries.

adversary-(noun) country or person you fight or compete with Synonym-opponent

To make friends, you must not alienate people the very first time you meet them.

alienate-(verb) To make someone stop feeling friendly Synonym-to turn someone off

The thief used his artifice to steal four dogs, a cat, and a big screen T.V.

artifice-(noun) false or insincere behavior Synonym-trick

I tried to coerce my dog into giving up my shoe.

coerce-(verb) to force someone to do something by threatening him/her. Synonym- to compel, to make
