Presentation transcript:

Black History Month Project African American Inventors Project Rubric   This month the students will be learning the different African Americans that had an impact on American history through their inventions. The students will research their inventor and learn the following: Background knowledge (date of birth, family, education, etc.) What they invented How their invention helps us today *Each area above should be a least a paragraph of information (5-6 sentences) The students will create a poster of their invention and include the information above on their poster. (Example: F.J. Loudin invented the key chain so a student could get a piece of poster board and cut in out in the shape of a key and place information along with pictures within the key chain cut out.) The students will be using the I Pads to research and take notes in class however the project should be completed at home. Remember to give details and new information throughout your poster. **Due to the time period some information is hard to find due to lack of recognition to African Americans and documentation. (No worries) Add as much information that you can find. Some of these inventors made improvements to other inventions, so that should be noted in the project. Have fun exploring and learning!  Project Due: February 4, 2018 Student Signature ____________________________________________________________ Parent Signature _____________________________________________________________ * Attached you will find a list of inventors to choose from.
