Sequestration Definition Automatic, across-the-board cancelation of budgetary resources Effort to cut overall federal spending No concern given to priority of items being cut

Sequestration Impact Budget Control Act of 2011 will impose across-the-board cuts of about 8.2% Effective January 2, 2013 School Districts will lose approximately $80,000 for every $1,000,000 in funding received Mandatory cut due to Congress’ failure to agree on 10-year plan to cut spending
