By Spencer Frank Warehime Running Efficiently By Spencer Frank Warehime Author: Shane Warehime…?

Why did I pick this study? I like to run here and there in my free time--and the author of the study caught my eye.

Alternative hypothesis: Wearing different shoe types (barefoot, minimal, or traditional) effects the efficiency of distance runners Other alternative hypothesis: Different foot strikes varies the efficiency of running

Definitions:

Prior Knowledge: VO2 max--maximal oxygen consumption Perceived extertion--a way of measuring physical activity intensity level. How hard you feel like your body is working.

How was this study conducted? https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2ty8mu5DvHRZWRZNVlWbFA3TE0/view?ts=56c76d44

The null hypothesis was correct! In conclusion, no foot strike had an advantage over the other. The same as of running shoes, no major advantage.
