Biomedical Engineer By: Amina Taslim

Biomedical Engineer Biomedical engineering is a interest to me because I want to help people with diseases using technology and science. Biological engineering is the use of engineering principles to the fields of biology and health care.

Biomedical Engineering The median pay (annually) for biomedical engineers is $86,960 while hourly median pay $41.81. The entry level education needed is a bachelor's degree and the projected 10-year growth is 27%.The number of jobs is 19,400. In a biomedical engineering job BMEs, work to plan, create and advance medical devices like artificial organs and bioengineered skin. They have a extensive range of job openings and can contain a clinical engineer, an industrially based engineer designing medical devices, or a staff engineer in a medical research laboratory. To do things such as progress software to sense abnormal heart rhythms for use in a cardiac pacemaker, investigate and perfect a novel drug delivery method to treat a chronic disease, bring a product to market through the Food and Drug Administration's very involved pre-market approval process which requires extensive clinical testing and my own favorite one, plan and create a unique research device as part of a multidisciplinary research team to enable scientific discovery. You can also advance the state of the art one of the many modern imaging modalities (PET, MRI, CAT scans) either in the progression of current technology or the development of new ones.
