WV State Tax Department Travis Payne (Tax) & Kurt Donaldson (WVGISTC) Tax and Revenue Manager Mined Minerals/GIS Section 2016 West Virginia GIS Conference

Mineral Parcels Implemented ArcGIs Server Published first web maps Created workflows and scripting for uploading cadastral updates Internal system now but ultimate goal to provide access to counties

Surface Parcels Established Map Kiosk at Tax Sales Office $$$ Funding Opportunity $$$ Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 requires West Virginia to develop state and local hazard mitigation plans. Potential funding for digital parcel development in West Virginia from FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) coordinated through the State Hazard Mitigation Office

FLOOD ANALYSIS requires GIS Parcel Polygons + CAMA

Goal 1: Statewide Assessment and Estimated Cost to Obtain 100% Digital Parcel Polygons for West Virginia INVENTORY CONTACTS: Tax Dept. Assessors MLMP E-911 Vendors

Goal 2: Identify counties which desire funding assistance to convert from manual parcel system to a “sustainable” digital parcel mapping program
