Eger is situated 120 km away from Budapest Eger is situated 120 km away from Budapest. It can be reached on M3 highway. The population of the town is 58000. Its geographic features are very favourable because in one hand it is close to the capital city and on the other hand it is not far from the northern border. The current city administration has paid special attention to link the culture and tourism and it always organizes various regional and national programs.

Economy of Eger One of the leading sectors of the economy of the town is tourism and the significant proportion of the population lives on or indirectly related to it. The main tourist attractions are the historical monuments, cultural events, spas, sports facilities, the wine and the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains. Eger and its surroundings are important agricultural sectors of grape growing and wine managements. The area known as Eger wine region is located between the Bükk and the Mátra Mountains and the tradition of wine production has followed since 1330.

The tourism service infrastructure can be strong, but the industry carries the power. The key role is played by manufacturing and construction sector which constitute a significant percentage of the sale in trade. The local economy is export-typical, which is definitely supposed demanding market. This tax means security for the city and raises the level of employment as well. Due to the ongoing economic crisis decline of local industries is rather significant and it affects the stability of employment and development, so there is an excessive number of registered unemployed in the region at the national level.

In the region a significant amount of thermal treasure is located, which is utilized by several thermal bathes: Bükkszék - Salvus Bath, Eger - Thermal Bath City, Turkish bath, Spa, Bogács, Mátraderecske - Spa, Tarnaméra – thermal spa. The conditions for tourism based on thermal waters considered to be outstanding at a national level in Heves county. The healing affect of the thermal waters in the county has known for a long time and the spa culture is based on this old tradition (e.g. Eger Turkish bath, humidity, etc.).

Industry The Industrial Park of Eger can be found on the western part of the town. The initial infrastructure works for the 14.3-hectare park area have been completed by the year 2000. Initially, three enterprises have worked in the park, which employed about 100 people. Nowadays there are more than 60 enterprises has been operating in the Park and the total area of it reaches to 100 hectares.

Services provided by Industrial Park: Consulting - technical, legal, financial, tender monitoring Services - guarding, security service, rental offices, catering, retail, engineering, maintenance, meeting room, event organization Logistics services - transport, customs

Industrial Park leaders seek sustainable economic cooperation with the setting companies and take fully into consideration each other's interests. There is a good cooperation with the leadership of the city and they try to find the most optimal solution in great problems for their partners. They are open to economic cooperation with companies wishing to settle in, such as the creation of joint ventures, leasing, renting.
