Team Members Full Names Class Number and Name Date Team Name Preliminary Design Review (this is a bare-bones template – reorder the slides and/or make it fancier if you wish, but be sure to address at least the items listed here) (speak for 6-8 minutes – don’t go long; but if you are short, add more content) (share the speaking time approximately equally, even if that means that not everyone does the same # of slides) (do NOT bring the kit with you for this presentation – you will bring the rocket to show off at the next one) Team Members Full Names Class Number and Name Date

Introduction Introduce the rocket to your peers (i.e. people who know something about rockets). Show a labeled diagram (at least) which is hand-drawn or taken from the instruction booklet. Point out features that make your rocket different from the other kits (i.e. read up a bit on the other kits too).

Parts List & Kit Modifications Include a parts list (mostly for the record – you don’t need to take the time to read through the whole list orally, but at least point out the main items). Be sure to point out modifications you will be making when you construct the rocket, and why.

Construction Timeline Explain the order in which the construction will proceed and the dates by which you expect to complete major milestones. Establish a time-line that allows you to be done with the rocket long enough prior to the launch that you can do at least some painting. Remember that both epoxy and paint require time for drying, with possible sanding between primer coat(s) and paint coat(s) (for example).

General Flight Profile Talk about what happens as the rocket flies, assuming using only motor eject and a 12-second delay (that occurs at about apogee). You do NOT need to simulate exactly how high you expect the rocket to ascend - you will discuss that in a later presentation.

Team Management Draw an organizational chart (AKA an “Org chart”) (Look up what one looks like; note - this is a figure, not a list). Who is the “team lead” (AKA the “team contact”)? Who is responsible for what? Share the duties – you don’t need all team members to do everything. Think all the way through the rocket build – for example, later on you will want at least one team member to become an OpenRocket (computer simulation) “guru.”
