Irish Instruments The Bodhrán (bow-rahn) is a large drum covered in stretched animal skins and is hit with a stick, which is traditionally made from double-ended knucklebone. The Uilleann pipes are the national bagpipes of Ireland. The Uilleann pipes meaning is ‘pipes of the elbow’. The Celtic Harp has been on the national flag and has been imprinted on Euros.

Styles Of Music Traditional Irish music was once the most popular music in Ireland. But new styles of music became more popular during the 20th century. A lot of traditional Irish music comes from European music. Irish Folk music is very common and famous bands like the Pogues do it.
