Include scripts that can be read aloud. No audio recordings. Listening Include scripts that can be read aloud. No audio recordings. Accompanied by an answer key at the bottom of the domain. Speaking Accompanied by rubrics which describe the criteria for performance at each score point. NOT be accompanied by scripts or recordings of sample responses. Reading Writing Items are followed by write-on lines of the same length as the operational test for students to practice writing responses. All Items Represents the general style and alignment to standards found on the ELPAC Provides information about the standard(s) the task type is designed to assess. Practice tests give one example of each task type for each domain. No audio recordings are available.

The majority of the time at these trainings will be focused on the speaking portion of the ELPAC as it is the one that is administered one-on-one and the examiner must be very well-versed on what to do when administering the test and how to score since each item is scored right then and there. It’s very important when doing the Administration and Scoring training at your district to provide sufficient time for practice with scoring and calibration for the speaking items.

Participating in these opportunities is a really good way to become familiar with the ELPAC and provide input from the field on these new assessments.
