“Boldness in Evangelism”

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Matthew 28:18-19 NIV

“. and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you “ . . . and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 NIV

Evangelism is a Command Given first to the Apostles – Matthew 28:16; Acts 1:1-8 They were to GO and make disciples, baptize them and teach them to obey everything Jesus had commanded – Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16 The Book of Acts is a record of the Apostles obedience to this command – Acts 2:36-42; 4:1-21; 6:7; Colossians 1:23

Evangelism is a Command Passed on to every Christian of every generation The early church took this command very seriously – Acts 4:29-31; 8:1-4 It’s a command we too must take very seriously!– Matthew 10:32-33

Evangelism Requires Boldness To overcome fear and opposition – Acts 4:27-31 The greatest hindrance to Evangelism is fear – Matthew 10:28; 2 Timothy 1:7-8 We must not allow fear or opposition to stifle us! – Hebrews 12:1-4; 2 Timothy 2:23-26

Evangelism Requires Boldness To endure hardship and suffering – 2 Timothy 2:1-7 The early Church suffered much for the Gospel – Hebrews 10:32-36 We must also be willing to suffer for the Gospel!

How to Boldly Evangelize Start by inviting people to church – John 1:35-45 Carry some church cards with you every where you go – Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 8:1-4 Make the most of every opportunity! – Colossians 4:2-6

How to Boldly Evangelize Tell people your story Who first introduced you to Jesus? – John 4:28-29 How has Jesus changed your life? – Mark 5:18-20

How to Boldly Evangelize Boldly proclaim the Gospel – Romans 1:16 Proclaim your faith in who Jesus is – John 8:24; 14:6; Acts 4:12 Explain what the Gospel is all about – John 3:16; Hebrews 9:27; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 3:23-26

We have the words of Eternal Life Let’s get out there and tell people! “If you knew your neighbors house was on fire, wouldn’t you warn them?” “If you had a cure for cancer, wouldn’t you share it with the world?” We have the words of Eternal Life Let’s get out there and tell people!
