Here is Turkey. It's situated at the East of Europe, largely located in Western Asia with the portion of Thrace in Europe.

In 1299, foundation of the Ottoman Empire by Osman Bey . A bit of HISTORY In 1299, foundation of the Ottoman Empire by Osman Bey . 1453: conquest of Constantinople ( today Istanbul) by Mehmet II. During the 16th and 17th centuries, in particular under the reign of  Suleiman the Magnificent , the Ottoman Empire was a powerful multinational, multilingual empire controlling Southeast Europe, Western Asia, the Caucasus  and the North of Africa 1923 : end of the Ottoman Empire and birth of Turkish Republic

The Ottoman Empire had lands in three continents as east of Europe, the South-West Asia and North Africa.

Osman Bey Fatih Mehmet Suleiman Magnificient The foundation of the Ottoman Empire was rooted by Osman Bey on 27th July 1299. During the 623 years of the Ottoman Empire, 36 padishah rose to the throne. The sultan of Kanuni Süleyman,known as Suleiman Magnificient was the padishah which stayed in the throne longer time than the others. One of the most important events is the Conquest of Istanbul by Sultan de Fatih Mehmet, Fatih Conquerer in 1453. The Empire Otoman ended officially, after the World War I, On November 1st, 1922. Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was the first president. He has been elected in 1923. He was the founder of Turkish Republic and he was the great leader of Turkish people.

The historical signification of the 29th 0ctober is foundation of Turkish Republic and it’s celebrated as The Republic Day.

Today the president of Turkey is Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The Turkish climate. Differents types of climate are seen in Turkey. The Mediterranean climate in Aegan and Mediterranean Region has hot and dry summers and winters are warm and rainy. The Black Sea climate is a warm Oceanic type, it rains in every season. In Central Anatolian Region, Soustheastern and Eastern Regions we come across continental climate :hot summers and very cold winters.

The capital city of Turkey is Ankara. The territory of Turkey is more than 1 600km long and 800km wide. Turkey's area,including lakes, occupies near 800 000 square km. The country is encircled by seas on three sides : the Aegean Sea on the west, the Black Sea on the north and the Mediterranean on the south. Turkey also contains the Sea of Marmara's in the northwest.The European part of Turkey is Thrace.
