KOÇ SECONDARY SCHOOL 16 Our school located in Beylikdüzü / İstanbul. Our school was established in Our school is made by the Vehbi Koç Foundation. Now there are 630 students and 36 teachers in it. The headmaster of our gymnasium is Yıldız GÜZEL.

4 LOCATION 2 Beylikdüzü is a district in the European suburbs of Istanbul, Turkey, located north of the Sea of Marmara, south of Esenyurt, east of Büyükçekmece, and west of Avcılar.

5 HISTORY 2 It is assumed that Beylikdüzü was first settled by Greeks from Byzantion in the second century AD as a farming village. It later became a popular resort for residents of Constantiople in the Byzantine Empire, a status that continued after the Fall of Constantinople to the Ottoman Empire. The region was referred to as "Garden" in the later Ottoman period, and following the foundation of the Turkish Republic was called "Kavaklı," after the large number of poplar trees, a name which was used until The modern name means "Plains of the Beylik."

12 ABOUT ISTANBUL 2 İstanbul is very important place in the world. The city is spread over an area of km2 150 km long and 50 km wide. Istanbul became the biggest and the most crowded city of Europe. Because, ıts location between Asia and Europe, the city always had a great geopolitical importance. The city population is estimate 14 to 16 millions. Around 2 millions tourists visit İstanbul every year. They are see the historical and natural beauties of the city. The city has a lots of historical mosque, church and museums of Turkey.

14 TOPKAPI PALACE 4 The Topkapı Palace is a palace in Istanbul (Constantinople), Turkey. Topkapı Sarayı in Turkish means the "Cannongate Palace". It was built in The palace was the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire. It was turned into a museum at the request of Turkey's first President, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in It was built on the acropolis, the site of the first settlement in Istanbul. The palace has an very good view of the Golden Horn, the Bosphorus and the Sea of Marmara. The palace is surrounded by 5km of walls. It has an area of 700,000 sq. m at the tip of the historical peninsula.

18 THE TAKSIM SQUARE 8 The large square at the end of the Istıklal street is the Taksim square, which is one of the most active centers of İstanbul.The square is the most important for Istanbul.There are a lot of different counturies people.There are a lot of big department store this place is really beatiful.

19 GALATA TOWER 8 This tower at the slopes of Galata is visible every where in the city, and is 61 m. tall.The tower is at the hill which over looks both to the Bospherus and the Golden Horn and the sea of Marmara. One day,an scientist named Hazerfen Ahmet Çelebi jumped down the tower and flew to the opposite side of the Bosphorus strait by using the wings which he had invented ( 17th century )

20 LEANDER’S TOWER 8 The leandros Tower covers on area of 1250 m2 and was built  200 metres from the Usküdar beach. It has got a intelligent history. One day a witch has got apples for the girl and gave her a poisana us apple, she did after eating it. That is why the tower is called the Leandros Tower.

21 THE SULTAN AHMED MOSQUE (BLUE MOSQUE)
8 It is a historic mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey. A popular tourist site, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque continues to function as a mosque today; men still kneel in prayer on the mosque's lush red carpet after the call to prayer. The Blue Mosque, as it is popularly known, was constructed between 1609 and 1616 during the rule of Ahmed I. Its Külliye contains Ahmed's tomb, a madrasah and a hospice. Magnificent hand-painted blue tiles adorn the mosque’s interior walls, and at night the mosque is bathed in blue as lights frame the mosque’s five main domes, six minarets and eight secondary domes.
