Welcome, Lions, to the final year of our Centennial Celebration, 2017-18! I’m excited to share with you the latest information on this historic Lions program and how our Centennial Celebration is aligning with LCI Forward, our plan to begin Lions second century of humanitarian service.

Connect with Community Centennial Themes Lead through Service Invite for Impact Connect with Community Throughout our celebration, Lions have worked hard to Lead through Service with the Centennial Service Challenge, Invite for Impact with the Centennial Membership Awards, and Connect with Community with Centennial Community Legacy Projects. While we will see the impressive numbers Lions worldwide have achieved so far through these programs, I want you also to think of how many more people we can serve and how many more members we can gain from now through June 2018.

Lead through Service Centennial Service Challenge Served over ### million people ##% of clubs have reported participation 4 Worldwide Weeks of Service in 2016-17 {{Find the latest Centennial numbers for slides 3-5 on the Lions100.org home page.}} We continue leading through service. I am pleased to report the number of people served through the Centennial Service Challenge continues to grow worldwide. As of the beginning of this month, Lions have already served over ### million people with ##% of Lions clubs reporting their service through MyLCI. 2016-17 featured a Worldwide Week of Service for all four of the Service Challenge campaigns, giving the global Lions community an opportunity to connect through service while participating in each of the campaigns.

Invite for Impact Centennial Membership Awards ##% of clubs have participated Centennial Members ######; Clubs #### Last chance to earn limited- edition awards Induct new members Sponsor new clubs Lions also participate in our Centennial Celebration by Inviting for Impact -- asking others to join us in service. As of the beginning of this month, ##% of clubs have earned Centennial Membership Awards. The total number of new Centennial Members is over ###### and new clubs is over ####. You and your club still have a chance to earn limited-edition membership awards in our final Centennial year, so I encourage you to continue inducting new members and to sponsor a new club!

Connect with Community Community Legacy Projects Goal: Every club provide a visible, long-lasting gift to their community during the Centennial #### clubs have reported ##### projects through MyLCI Be sure to include a sign or plaque, invite the media and post on social media #Lions100 If your club has not yet completed a Legacy Project, now is your chance to provide a visible, lasting gift to your community in our closing Centennial year. So far, more than #### clubs have reported over ##### Legacy projects, including donated park benches, trees and water fountains; bus shelters and playgrounds; water filtration systems and medical equipment; school classrooms and eye clinics. For Legacy Project inspiration, check out Lions Clubs International on social media, and share your project with the hashtag #Lions100.

What’s Next: LCI Forward Strategic plan to show the way to our 2nd century Created with input from Lions worldwide While we continue to celebrate our first century of service, we are also moving Lions Clubs International forward. Developed with input from Lions worldwide, LCI Forward is our strategic plan to show the way from our Centennial Celebration to the second century of Lions Clubs International.

LCI Forward Goal Serve 200 million people per year by 2020-21 Triple our humanitarian impact LCI Forward has one overall goal: To honor our first century of service and meet the emerging needs of the world, Lions Clubs will serve 200 million people per year by 2020-21, tripling the impact of Lions Clubs International.

LCI Forward Objectives Enhance service impact and focus Reshape public opinion and improve visibility Pursue club, district and organizational excellence Improve membership value and reach new markets To achieve our overall goal, 4 objectives have been identified: We will enhance service impact by establishing a new service framework and global service focus. We will reshape public opinion and improve our visibility by launching a global advertising campaign and mobile app. We will pursue club, district and organizational excellence by increasing training available to Lions and providing a new club quality tool. We will improve membership value and reach new markets by providing new options for people to serve with us and improve their experience when they join. Because of its impact on our Centennial, we will go into more detail on the first objective.

Service Framework Input from thousands of Lions and Leos New ways to serve and meet current needs Starting July 2017 Our new service framework was the result of a global service assessment, which included the input of thousands of Lions and Leos. Starting in July 2017, the framework will provide Lions and Leos new ways to serve while meeting current humanitarian needs

Service Platforms The framework includes five service platforms: diabetes, the environment, hunger, pediatric cancer, and vision Continue to serve youth and also engage them as volunteers and service leaders Continue serving local community needs The framework includes five service platforms: diabetes, the environment, hunger, pediatric cancer, and vision. We will also build on our tradition of serving youth within all the platforms and by engaging them as volunteers and service leaders. While we focus resources on these global platforms, clubs and districts will continue to serve their local communities as they have throughout our first century of service.

Global Service Focus: Diabetes One of the largest global epidemics 8th leading cause of death Complications can cause: kidney disease nerve damage vision loss Lions and Leos will be leaders in diabetes prevention Diabetes affects children and adults and is one of the largest and fastest-growing global epidemics, currently the 8th leading cause of death worldwide. Complications from diabetes cause kidney disease, nerve damage and other major health issues, including vision loss. By establishing diabetes as our global service focus, Lions and Leos will become leaders in preventing diabetes and improving the quality of life for those diagnosed.

Centennial Service Challenge 2017-18 Support LCI Forward & new Service Framework Add diabetes to existing campaigns Add Worldwide Week of Service Diabetes award patch Mobile app badge To support LCI Forward and the new global service focus, we are adding diabetes to the Centennial Service Challenge in 2017-18. As part of that support, a 5th Worldwide week of service for diabetes will be added. Your club can also earn a special diabetes patch, and if you use the mobile app for a diabetes project, you will earn a diabetes badge on your mobile app profile.

Centennial Service Challenge continued Additional LCIF grants will be available for diabetes projects Clubs will report diabetes activities through MyLCI as Centennial Service Challenge projects 2017-2018 Also, the Lions Clubs International Foundation will launch a major diabetes campaign and provide additional grants for diabetes projects. Starting July 1, 2017, Lions will report diabetes activities through MyLCI as Centennial Service Challenge projects in addition to youth, hunger, vision and environment activities. Clubs will continue to receive gemstone patches representing the number of campaigns they participate in, but the diamond award will now represent participation in either 4 or all 5 of the Service Challenge campaigns. Your support is appreciated to help integrate diabetes activities into the Centennial Celebration. The diamond award will represent participation in either 4 or all 5 of the Centennial Service Challenge campaigns
