Importance... Provides the trainee with the foundations required to function independently

Basics How long should an induction be? Who should be responsible for developing ? How much planning time is required ? Induction pack ? Buddy / Mentor ? What should be included ?

What should be included in an induction ?

What's included? Basic IT requirements & familiarisation - dedicate at least 2 sessions -SMART card, Pathweb, mock patients Meeting and understanding roles of the practice team Community clinics? Trainer session(s)

Trainer session Basics of how GP session runs- timings and arriving early to check bloods/emails/ tasks How to navigate the IT system from a clinician perspective Practice policies on referrals( acute, routine, FT)
