Hebrews 12 & 13: Jesus – our Future Christ has died! Christ is risen! Christ will come again! Hebrews 12 & 13: Jesus – our Future Believers in Jesus - not just converts, but disciples, apprentices, pilgrims on a life-long journey of faith. The future is bright – the future is Jesus!

Hebrews 1320,21 Jesus is alive, and has resources for our journey: The Shepherd’s care. Equipment to do God’s will. Working in us to please God. Jesus pours out the Holy Spirit upon all believers. Eph.119,20: power for believers = resurrection power

Hebrews 121-13 Throw off all that hinders you. Don’t let sin entangle you. Run the race with perseverance. Focus on Jesus, the pioneer who’s gone ahead! Disciples will be disciplined – it’s not a cushy life.

The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, Hebrews 1218-21 You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them, because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.” The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.”

You have come to God, the judge of all men, Hebrews 1222-24 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

Glorious eternity: our destination! Hebrews 1222-24 Glorious eternity: our destination! The city of God, where angels worship. Fellowship with believers from every nation. At home with God, the judge! Face to face with Jesus, the mediator.
