Materials Needed for Bud Vases Floral tools – knife, cutters 1-3 flowers 2-3 leather leaf foliage 1 stem baby’s breath or other filler flower Bow Card and card pick

Constructing the Bud Vase Add properly measured floral preservative Fill vase with water 1 ½ to 2 inches from the top.

Adding Greenery Remove the bottom pieces of foliage so that is it the right size for the vase Add 2-3 pieces of leather leaf to the vase Using proper proportion the height of the greenery should be 1 ½ to 2 times the height of the vase

Adding Flowers Add 1-3 flowers to the vase All 3 flowers should be at different heights, tall, medium, and short.

Add Bow Tie a florist’s bow in a coordinating color. You can add a card with a card pick if you are giving it as a gift.

Examples – Good and Bad Which one is too short, off balance (leaning sideways), not properly placed apart, and one is in good proportion and flowers are properly placed apart.
