APPLICANTS 2001-2005: States of origin Philosophy: In today’s knowledge-based economy, human capital is more important than physical capital. But, rather than promote generalized human capital development, IFP seeks to: Broaden the pool of future leaders by helping the most talented members of disadvantaged groups to pursue advanced degrees Strengthen the link between education and development by selecting Fellows with outstanding leadership qualities and strong commitment to social goals. Goal: Create new leadership among marginalized and disadvantaged communities by providing opportunities for post-baccalaureate study to exceptional individuals from groups that lack systematic access to higher education.
