Acts 27-28 Paul’s Journey To Rome REVIEW Difficult sailing & eventual shipwreck 27:14-44 The ship ran into a “northeaster” They were forced to abandon sailing tactics and simply “gave way to it, being driven along” They ran under the shelter of Clauda, barely able to control the ship They undergirded the ship with cables and jettisoned cargo to withstand the violent storm The sun & moon were not visible for many days…all hope was abandoned After a long time without food, Paul admonished them they should have listened to him in Crete…however, he urged them to keep their courage vv. 21-26

Acts 27-28 Paul’s Journey To Rome REVIEW Difficult sailing & eventual shipwreck 27:14-44 On the 14th night, the sailors took soundings…they were approaching land!! Paul thwarted sailors who were attempting to escape Around dawn, Paul encourages all (276) to take food for strength They resolved to drive the ship’s bow into the harbor beach Striking a reef, the ship began to break apart The soldiers intended to kill all the prisoners…Paul’s centurion kept them from this plan All had to either swim or drift to shore on whatever object they could from the ship
