County Government MS has 82 counties Board of Supervisors Each county has a county seat Courthouse Offices for county officials Board of Supervisors Legislative branch 5 districts in each county – beats Chancery Clerk – maintain records and proceedings of the Board of Supervisors and the Chancery Court.

Circuit Clerk – chief elections officer of the county. Election Commissioners Each county has 5 Tax Assessor and/or Collector Personal and property tax rolls Coroner – chief medical examiner County Attorney – represents the state in County Court Country Surveyor – executes are land surveys

Sheriff – chief law enforcement officer in county Constable – law enforcement officials who enforce the orders and judgments issued by Justice Courts in their districts. County Superintendent of Education – oversees the education of the county County Court System County Courts Youth Courts Drug Courts Justice Courts
