Jane Austen (16 December 1775-18 July 1817) Jane Austen is the greatest English novelist. Her realism, biting irony and social commentary give her historical importance among bachelors and critics.

Her novels “Sense and Sensibility”(1811), “Pride and Prejudice”(1813), “Mansfield Park”(1814), “Emma”(1815), “Persuasion”(1818) brought her success as a published writer.

Her novels about life of young women in middle class Regency England Her novels about life of young women in middle class Regency England. Every novel ends with a happy marriage.

There are a lot of films based on her novels There are a lot of films based on her novels. It shows us the enormous popularity of Jane Austen books in now days.

Pride and Prejudice It is a novel of manners was first published in 1813. The novel set in England in the early 19th century and tell the story of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet’s five unmarried daughters.

The main characters Elizabeth Bennet Fitzwilliam Darsy Mr. Darsy is 28 years old. He is wealthy owner of family estate. Handsome, tall, intelligent. He looks like very proud of himself. She is 20 year old and intelligent, likely, playful, attractive and witty. She has a wrong prejudice about Mr. Darsy.
