When asked what they are doing differently in the classroom, most teachers stated they had not done anything special. However, they did mention that they had talked to the students about using informational text strategies to help when reading non-fiction text. Students explained that after learning what text features are and how to use them, they are now able to easily navigate through textbook and other non-fiction texts in order to better understand the concepts presented.
