Working with Percent SWBAT visually represent percents and be able to find the missing piece when solving problems.

Warm Up Fill in the 25% table for 30. Fill in the 10% table for 30. When you are done: Get out your sheet from yesterday. Look over it so you can be prepared to ask questions.

Review How do we use a tape diagram or double number line to find the percent of a number? Take 2 minutes to write. Be ready to share.

Problems we will be able to solve We will find the percent of a number Ex: What is 25% of 40 We will find the missing whole Ex: 10 is 25% of what number We will find the missing percent. Ex: What percent is 10 of 40

Finding the Missing Part Use a diagram to help you solve the following: 20% of 13 = 40% of 10 = 35% of 20 = Ms Brown purchased a new $800 computer for 10% off. What was her savings?

Finding the Missing Whole 10% of ________ = 800 After spending 30% of her salary, Sara was able to deposit $120 in the bank. What is her salary? Bill got 60% off a new jacket. He ended up spending $18. What was the original price of the jacket? Juan only paid $10 for his new sweater. He got a 25% discount. What was the original price?
