The Centre was established following Ministerial proposals in Firm Foundations and the positive response this received in terms of setting up the Centre. The key remit of the CHMA is to provide national, central support to local authorities, and other key stakeholders, to aid the strategic planning of housing in Scotland. Our Remit Our remit is to provide national support and advice to local authorities and other key stakeholders to aid strategic planning of housing in Scotland. We do this by providing ongoing guidance and training to help stakeholders prepare evidence-based Housing Need and Demand Assessments and Local Housing Strategies. We are also responsible for confirming all final HNDAs as 'robust and credible'.
