What Is Upskilling? Skill development and training of workers to: Enhance skill sets of employees to provide better performance in their current jobs Equip employees with the skills and opportunities required to advance to higher paying positions Meet the increasing need for higher level skills to support higher value-added activities in the economy Provide opportunities to “backfill” vacant slots with other employees positioned to move up the organization
