Read Alouds in Preschool Workshop Objective: Parents and caregivers will increase their knowledge about literacy to enhance or reinforce their family experiences with reading aloud to their children. Story Time Tips Types of Books Book Vocabulary Read and Read Again and Yes Again Dialogic Reading & the 5 W’s

Florida Center for Reading Research Reading research over the last 20 years has identified the critical skills that students must acquire very early in reading development to ensure that they can read at grade level by third grade. The development of these skills is critical to getting off to a good start in reading. Students who lag behind in the development of these skills in early elementary school are in danger of not being able to read at grade level by third grade. “Essentials for Reading Success”
