Los Posadas (De mexico) It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

What are las posadas?

When are the posadas? The posadas are celebrated for nine days, between the 16th to the 24th of December, every year, leading up to Christmas. These nine days of religious observance are representative of the 9 months Jesus spent in Mary's womb.

What does posadas mean, anyway? The posadas re-enact Mary and Joseph's cold and difficult journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of shelter; in Spanish, the word means "lodging."

What happens in las posadas? Every night, for the nine nights, a household in a neighborhood is selected to host a party. The parties
