Money Problems Luke 16:10-12

(10) "He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. (11) "Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you? (12) "And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own? Luke 16:10-12 NASB

Spiritual weaknesses that can lead to financial difficulties… Laziness

(10) For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. (11) For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. (12) Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living. 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 ESV

(23) Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, (24) knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23-24 ESV

(25) The desire of the sluggard kills him, for his hands refuse to labor. Proverbs 21:25 ESV

(30) I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of a man lacking sense, (31) and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns; the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down. (32) Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction. (33) A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, (34) and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man. Proverbs 24:30-34 ESV

Spiritual weaknesses that can lead to financial difficulties… Laziness Pride

(2) When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. Proverbs 11:2 ESV

Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety. - Pr 11:14 ESV The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. - Pr 12:15 ESV Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed. - Pr 15:22 ESV

Spiritual weaknesses that can lead to financial difficulties… Laziness Pride Lack of self-control

(24) Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. (25) Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 ESV

(26) So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air (26) So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. (27) But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 ESV

(12) "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful (12) "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are helpful. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be dominated by anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12 ESV

(11) For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, (12) training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, Titus 2:11-12 ESV

Spiritual weaknesses that can lead to financial difficulties… Laziness Pride Lack of self-control Greed

(15) Then He said to them, "Beware, and be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions." Luke 12:15 NASB

(9) Honor the LORD with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; (10) then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine. Proverbs 3:9-10 ESV

(10) Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. Malachi 3:10 ESV

(38) give, and it will be given to you (38) give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you." Luke 6:38 ESV

(16) This is what the LORD has commanded: 'Gather of it, each one of you, as much as he can eat. You shall each take an omer, according to the number of the persons that each of you has in his tent.'" (17) And the people of Israel did so. They gathered, some more, some less. (18) But when they measured it with an omer, whoever gathered much had nothing left over, and whoever gathered little had no lack. Each of them gathered as much as he could eat Exodus 16:16-21 ESV

(19) And Moses said to them, "Let no one leave any of it over till the morning." (20) But they did not listen to Moses. Some left part of it till the morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them. (21) Morning by morning they gathered it, each as much as he could eat; but when the sun grew hot, it melted. Exodus 16:16-21 ESV

(44) "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. (45) "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, (46) who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it. Matthew 13:44-46 ESV
