Location New York is in the United States and in the center of the New York Metropolitan Area.

Location And Population New York is one of the most populous cities in the world. It is also called the Big Apple, because in the late 1920s, New York City's jazz musicians began referring to New York City as the "Big Apple". An old saying in show business was "There are many apples on the tree, but only one Big Apple." New York City being the premier place to perform was referred to as the Big Apple. New York City’s population:8,336,697 in July of 2012.
