Summary of Complaints Procedure (see p.17 Anti Bullying Policy) Stage 1 a) Speak with teacher outlining problem (This is only fair) b) If unresolved raise with principal c) If still unresolved speak informally with chairperson BOM. Stage 2 Put complaint in writing to chairperson Allow 5 school days for resolution Stage 3 If problem remains unresolved complaint now takes on formal status Copy of written complaint furnished to teacher A meeting arranged between Chairperson and teacher and possibly the principal Stage 4 Chairperson calls Board Meeting ,within 10 school days of Meeting referred to in Stage 3 and report of complaint given to BOM. : Stage 5 Teacher and complainant informed of final decision and outcomes or proposed actions of BOM within 5 days of meeting. Decision of the Board is final If complaint remains unresolved the complainant has the right to bring it to the School Patron or Office of Ombudsman for Children. Informal Procedure Formal Procedure A decision to uphold or not uphold the complaint made by BOM within 3 school days If complaint upheld copy of written evidence supplied to teacher and teacher asked to supply a response to BOM Teacher comes before by BOM to present their case within 10 school days of written copy of complaint being supplied The board has discretion to bring the complainant before them within 10 days.
