BULLYING WHAT IS IT? LAST WEEK IT WAS ANTI-BULLYING WEEK AND WE HAVE PREPARED THIS SLIDE SHOW TO TELL YOU ALL WHAT BULLYING IS AND HOW WE CAN PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING.

WHAT IS BULLYING? SEVERAL TIMES ON PURPOSE

TYPES OF BULLYING VERBAL BULLYING – when people keep on calling you unkind names on purpose. BEING LEFT OUT – when people isolate you on purpose and don’t let you play. SPREADING RUMOURS – when people say things about you that aren’t true CYBER BULLYING – when people post mean things about you online. PHYSICAL BULLYING – when people hurt you deliberately. E.g: kicking, pushing and punching.

WHY DOES IT HAPPEN? PEOPLE BULLY BECAUSE THEY ARE ANGRY AND WANT TO TAKE THEIR ANGER OUT ON EVERYONE ELSE WHEN THEY DON’T DESERVE IT. IT CAN ALSO HAPPEN WHEN SOMEONE IS UPSET AND THEY WANT TO BULLY TO MAKE THEM FEEL BETTER. ALSO, THEY CAN DO IT WHEN THEY ARE CONFIDENT IN USING THEIR POWER TO MAKE OTHER PEOPLE SMALL AND THEMSELVES BIG. FINALLY, THEY CAN DO IT TO MAKE OTHER PEOPLE FEEL EMBARRASSED.

HOW CAN WE PREVENT BULLYING? Ask whoever is being bullied what the problem is and try and make them feel better. Tell the person who is being bullied to try and ignore the bully and don’t react to them. If it carries on tell a teacher or adult that you trust and know that they will be able to stop the bullying.

STOP! Start Telling Other People

THANK YOU FOR LISTENING WE HOPE THAT YOU HAVE LEARNT LOTS ABOUT BULLYING, HOW TO PREVENT IT AND WILL BE ABLE TO USE THIS INFORMATION IN THE FUTURE.
