Introduction .. General Motors is one of the successful companies. The company sells and designs cars globally. GM faced some problems such any company, but overcome these problems by a good leader. Our presentation will justify the importance of having a good leader in each company, and how the good leader can solve the problems that company faced.

Name: General Motors Company Background .. Name: General Motors Company Products : GM is one of largest car and truck manufacturers. GM cars and trucks were sold globally under various brands. The GM automotive brands today are Vauxhall, Daewoo, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Holden, Opel, and Wuling. Former GM automotive brands include Oakland, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Hummer, Saab, and Saturn . History & current management –Leadership structure in the company : GM company established since 1908 by William Billy in united states.

The Leader .. Name : Alfred Pritchard Sloan Age : he was born in May 23 ,1875 and death in February 17 , 1966 at age of 90 .

The Leader .. Qualifications & Education: Alfred Jr. excelled as a student both in the public schools and at Brooklyn Institute where he graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (which considered him too young when he first applied), in 1892 he took a degree in electrical engineering in three years as the youngest member of his graduating class . Also, he was an ambitious person and a lover of work and diligence Job history : he was a business executive in the automobile industry in America . Also, he Chaired several He was a long-time president, chairman, and CEO of General Motors Corporation. Sloan, first as a senior executive and later as the head of the organization. Leader ship style : Mr. Sloan, a realist as well as a humanist and philanthropist, Although he recognized the inevitability of change that might dictate a different course, His accomplishments during his lifetime were of the highest order. Through the Foundation, his accomplishments have been extended and expanded .

The problem .. All companies may face problems. Some of the problems made by mistake from the leader or by some incontrollable situations. General Motors’ problem that faced by Alferd P. Sloan. The first problem was raising fuel prices and this was the major issue that the company faced. GM Company is very famous in its cars and their qualities, so the rising of the fuel price was the main issue for decreasing the amount of sales day after another. This huge issue was in 2007, and they lost 38 billion in that year.

The problem .. The minor problem that faced by GM at the same year which is the growing of the motor companies that makes the financial part decreasing. With growing of other competitors the people will have many options to get their cars or whatever motors that they want. After these two problems, some experts said; GM will never return as it was. But then it returned with some smart solving.
