Overview Lessons offer connections to the garden, but can be taught with or without a garden Key Messages: identified at the beginning of each lesson and are repeated throughout the lesson Tastings and Food Prep Activities: use featured fruits and vegetables that are tasted throughout the curriculum in different ways Gardening Guide – the featured foods are also in the gardening guide for tips on growing

Tasting and Food Safety Tasting Etiquette: is featured in Unit 1 and recommends that students come up with “tasting rules” that will be used throughout the curriculum Food Safety: See pages 4-5 for proper hand-washing and food preparation guidelines.
