Function Generator Today I am going to show about a very useful project. It is called Function Generator which is used to generate different types of electrical waveforms .

Project Components Voltage Source of 9v Four Resistances In this project we use :- Voltage Source of 9v Four Resistances 3 resistances of 1k ohm 1 resistance of 2K ohm Two Capacitors Bread board IC UA741 Wires Oscilloscope Connecting probes

Components

Bread Board Oscilloscope

Final Picture

Main Points In this project , We made a circuit on a bread board. We use 9v battery to operate the circuit . 3. When circuit is complete ,signals are created. 4. The main thing which we use is IC UA 741 circuit which is discussed here

THE 741 IS USED IN TWO WAYS 1. An inverting amplifier. Leg two is the input and the output is always reversed. In an inverting amplifier the voltage enters the 741 chip through leg two and comes out of the 741 chip at leg six. If the polarity is positive going into the chip, it negative by the time it comes out through leg six. The polarity has been ‘inverted’. 2. A non-inverting amplifier. Leg three is the input and the output is not reversed. In a non-inverting amplifier the voltage enters the 741 chip through leg three and leaves the 741 chip through leg six. This time if it is positive going into the 741 then it is still positive coming out. Polarity remains the same. We use an inverting amplifier in this project.

Working

Connections

UA 741 IC Connection 1st leg connect with 5th leg. 2th leg is connected with capacitor and resistor which is connected parallel to each other . 8th leg is grounded. 3rd leg is connected between 1k ohm resistance and 1k ohm resistance . 6th leg is use to connect to oscilloscope as positive terminal and negative one is grounded. 4th terminal is used as negative terminal for voltage source and 7th terminal is used as positive terminal for voltage source.

Use of Function Generator A function generator is usually a piece of electronic test equipment or software used to generate different types of electrical waveforms over a wide range of frequencies. Some of the most common waveforms produced by the function generator are the sine, square, triangular and saw tooth shapes.
