AFRICA FOUNDATION FOR LITERACY AND INNOVATION (AFLIN)

MISSION STATEMENT AFLIN provides the opportunity for underprivileged, and poor Africans to receive a quality education. AFLIN prepares its students for an economically free life, thereby giving them the ability to remove themselves from poverty and be entrepreneurially self dependent. This is accomplished through the provision of schools and centers, for both adults and children, where the students are educated on the power of being literate.

The Faculty and Students

Day 1: Nine students attended The opening ceremony of the school in Yola, Adamawa State Nigeria.

Day 2: Twenty-one more students joined the school in Yola.

Day 3: Over a hundred students attend English class.

Over a hundred students, ages 9 to 21, attend class toady and are taught in the same classrooms.

Students are encouraged to participate in speaking seminars

Unable to leave their children at home alone, adults bring their children to classes.

Many adults in Africa, especially women, are unable to attend school due to lack of resources and lack of encouragement from their families. With AFLIN women and children are encouraged to go to school and learn to be self-reliant in society.

Mark Henry Joel, president of AFLIN, teaches the adult class.

Women and men of all ages are and all cultures attend the afternoon class in Yola.

Adults are taught how to read and write in English.

Teachers volunteer their free time to teach the students how to read and write.

Adults unable to leave their children at home alone, are allowed to bring their children to classes.

FOUNDING PHILOSOPHIES Quality education should be affordable for all not a few. All communities need schools as much as they need places of worship. From mediocrity to innovation.

Please Donate & Support AFLIN. “Say no to illiteracy and say yes to literacy!” Books and Money are Welcome. Thank you 
