The 10th EVS-GTR IWG and Task Force meetings 29th February - 4th March in Tokyo: The group agreed on two-step approach. This implies that the GTR will establish a GTR, in Phase 1, covering near-term critical safety requirements. The remaining safety requirements that require long-term research as well as further improvement of the GTR will be covered in Phase 2. Nine Task force groups have been set up to resolve particular technical issues in an efficient manner. The TF groups have been making good progress to establish the GTR. An editorial group was set up to efficiently progress the drafting of the GTR. The group will start working during the next EVS IWG meeting in June.

Task Forces Group Task Force 1 (China) - Protection against Water Task Force 2 (OICA) - Low electricity energy option Task Force 3 (OICA) - Electrolyte leakage Task Force 4 (OICA) - REESS in-use Task Force 5 (China) - Thermal propagation Task Force 6 (Japan) - State of Charge Task Force 7 (Korea) - Fire resistance Task Force 8 (China) - Bus and Truck Task Force 9 (US) - Warning system

Time Line for Phase 1 December 2016: draft GTR will be submitted to 60th GRSP as an informal document February 2017: draft GTR will be submitted for translation as a formal document for the May 2017 61st GRSP session. June 2017: Draft GTR will be submitted as an informal document to WP29 session for review November 2017: Draft GTR will be formally submitted for a possible vote to establish GTR The exact scope and the timeline for Phase 2 of the GTR will be clarified after the completion of the Phase 1
