AIAA Foundation Fundraising Update January 2017

AIAA Foundation 2016 Impact 2015 – 2016 AIAA Foundation Impact Report is posted on the website More than 750 college and university students attended the Regional Student Conferences and 350 of those students presented technical papers; More than 650 students and advisors, representing 69 teams (25 from outside the United States!), participated in the 20th anniversary of the Design, Build and Fly Competition; 29 individual team papers were reviewed for our 5 Design Competitions; 10 Undergraduate Scholarships totaling $28,500 and 7 Graduate Scholarships totaling $23,250 were presented to deserving students; More than 60 students participated in a new program (still in a testing phase) that provides high school students with the opportunity to build, program, and fly an unmanned air vehicle through a prescribed indoor course; More than 400 middle-school kids attend the first two Generation STEM Events, to experience hands-on demonstrations in science and engineering; and More than 16 aerospace micro lessons were developed for 3700 AIAA Educator Associates, who are K-12 teachers, to enhance lesson plans with a focus on aerospace principles
