Prepare To Meet Thy God

Why Should We Prepare To Meet God? Time to do so is limited. Life is brief. (Ps. 144:4; Jas. 4:14) Death is certain. (2 Sam. 14:14; Heb. 9:27) Christ is coming. (Jn. 14:1-3; Heb. 9:28; 2Pet. 3:10) The meeting is inevitable. (Acts 17:31) All will stand in judgment. (Rom. 14:10-12; 2 Cor. 5:10) All nations will be gathered before Christ. (Mt. 25:31-46) God wants us to be prepared. He desires all to be saved. (1 Tim. 2:4; Titus 2:11) He takes no pleasure in death. (Ezek. 18:32; 2 Pet. 3:9)

When Should We Prepare To Meet God? We need to prepare Now because… Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Don’t boast about tomorrow. (Prov. 27:1) Don’t know what will happen tomorrow. (Jas. 4:13-14) Today is the day of salvation. Seek the Lord while He can be found. (Isa. 55:6) Can’t prepare after death. (Lk. 16:19-31) Now is the accepted time. (2 Cor. 6:2)

How Do We Prepare To Meet God? We become prepared by… Submitting to God’s will not ours. The way of man is not in himself. (Jer. 10:23;Prov. 14:12) Lean not on your own understanding. (Prov. 3:5-6) Must do God’s will to enter heaven. (Mt. 7:21-23) Keeping God’s commandments. Fear God and keep His commandment. (Eccl. 12:13) Blessed are those who do God’s commands. (Rev. 22:14)

Plan of Salvation Hear the word of God. (Luke 11:28) Believe in Jesus Christ. (John 8:24) Repent of sins. (Acts 17:30) Confess Jesus Christ. (Matthew 10:32) Be baptized. (Mark 16:16) Remain faithful. (Revelation 2:10)
