Scientific Variables

Independent Variables Something that is changed by the scientist What is tested Also known as the manipulated variable

Dependent Variable Something that might be affected by the change in the independent variable What is observed What is measured Also known as the responding variable

Controlled Variable A variable that is not changed Kept the same through the experiment Also known as a constant
