Single cropping area now converted to triple cropping. Total cost involved: Rs. 5.14 lacs (WHS + pipe line). Families benefited – 12. water used for house hold purpose besides irrigation. Paddy during rainy season (Aman) only. Rest of the year fallow. Increasing production with less investment. People not agreed to give land for construction of channel. This year besides Aman paddy, Boro (winter) paddy is taken up in SRI method. Assured & judicious use of irrigation water. Increase in cropping intensity. Learning regarding process restructuring / reorganization - PMKSY-WDC emphasizes on creation of Irrigation potentiality – highly essential for hilly areas of the states like Tripura. Cost norms to be increased (double). Allocation under watershed development component to be increased. PFMS – effective system but Banks need to be more pro active.
